Complete the Task!

What I have realized through many years of schooling, is that- a task must be completed! Class assignments are not given randomly to occupy a students time, or even waste it; but to instruct. When I was younger I would reason that if I skipped an assignment, it is acceptable because I can complete it later. NO! Such thinking is not healthy! If you wait to complete an assignment, your instructor may not accept it; even worse, you wait longer and not complete the task at all. I have received several dishonoring grades because of this faulty reasoning, and later I regret the decisions that I had made. Completing a task or assignment in college is imperative. The course instructors assign these tasks so that you can achieve mastery over the subject learned, they are not to be taken lightly. I have learned to work very hard to properly complete every assignment and task; because, hey, why should I become lazy and fail?

"How to Write with Style" - Kurt Vonnegut

In this article several topics of  how not-to-write were outlined; although I have reached perfection with a number of my literary works, there are always areas to improve. In fact, after reading Mr. Vonnegut's article, I was able to realize a specific area in writing that I could ameliorate personally. Kurt Vonnegut spoke of 'having the guts to cut,' which is simply removing words or sentences that are not needed; or that could be completely superfluous and weaken my writing presence. I feel as if 'having the guts to cut' will be the hardest rule for me to follow; simply because I like to elaborate. Otherwise, I see myself doing quite well in any future regarding this english class.
